Muskaan also collaborate with local Panchayats situated near highways and rural roads, working closely with community leaders. Our wide-ranging programs and events are geared towards creating a lasting impact and include Road Safety Orientation, Defensive Driving Training, On-Road Campaigns, Road Safety Carnivals, observance of Road Safety Month, Community Interactions, and wall painting initiatives. Muskaan is dedicated to making roads safer for all by reaching out, educating, and inspiring positive change in every facet of society.

World Day of Remembrance

On October 26, 2005, the United Nations officially endorsed the observance of the UN World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. This solemn day is marked on the third Sunday of every November, dedicated to remembering the countless individuals who have lost their lives or been injured on the world’s roads, along with their families, friends, and all those affected by these tragedies. In over 50 countries across the globe, more than 100 events take place on this significant day, making it a major advocacy platform for road traffic injury prevention. Muskaan initiated its participation in the World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims in Jaipur with a culturally enriched tribute event. This gathering brings together various stakeholders committed to road safety, fostering awareness about positive initiatives like the Good Samaritan Law and organ and blood donation. We believe that this outreach breathes life into the idea of promoting road safety in India. Activities include music workshops with renowned artists and school teachers, choir performances featuring over 500 students, skits and dance dramas by students and professional theater artists, and interviews with families of road accident victims.

On-Road Campaigns

Our On-Road Campaigns target crucial city intersections with stoppages of 90 to 95 seconds. These campaigns, exclusively conducted by college and university students, employ pantomime and voiceovers to emphasize the importance of wearing quality helmets and seat belts. Many participants hold placards bearing relevant messages. The group saves approximately 20 seconds to directly interact with and check for any lapses in safety gear usage, stopping at stop lines, and more. These campaigns, organized with the assistance of college and university students and Muskaan interns, serve as a means to keep the public mindful of road safety issues and maintain a vibrant volunteer spirit among interns and volunteers alike.

Road Safety Carnivals

Road Safety Carnivals are a vibrant platform to engage a large number of young people in creative activities related to road safety. This initiative involves approximately 500 students participating in various activities that convey road safety messages. Road Safety Clubs play a pivotal role in organizing these carnivals, which take place in open spaces accommodating up to 1000 students and youth. Activities include theater performances, quizzes, face painting, photography showcasing road safety themes, Q&A sessions, songs, dances, poster making, slogan writing, a road safety parade, and school bands playing road safety or popular songs. As these activities are driven by youth, there’s an abundance of innovation and enthusiasm on display during the carnival. Muskaan’s team provides support to schools and their clubs to ensure the success of these events.
