BRACE Road Safety Program

BRACE Road Safety School Education Program

A Walkathon was organised as a community awareness initiative to promote safe and inclusive road use, with a focus on pedestrian safety and responsible road behaviour. The objective was to create public awareness and encourage collective responsibility towards safer streets. The walkathon witnessed over 600 active participants from students, teachers, and community members, who engaged in spreading road safety messages through placards and public interaction. Through this activity, the program successfully reached a large number of daily commuters, pedestrians, and local residents, contributing to wider community sensitisation on road safety.

BRACE Road Safety School Education Program

The BRACE School Education Program, a partnership between Muskaan Foundation and Bosch Limited, is transforming road safety awareness in Rajasthan’s government schools. By integrating road safety into the classroom, we are building a safer, more responsible generation of road users.

Core Pillars of Our Program

  • Empowering Educators: We utilize a Training of Trainers (ToT) model to equip teachers with the expertise to deliver impactful road safety education.
  • Active Student Engagement: Through interactive classroom sessions, we teach essential skills—from defensive road behavior and traffic rules to emergency trauma response.
  • Sustainable Road Safety Clubs: We establish student-led Road Safety Clubs to foster peer learning, leadership, and long-term community advocacy.
  • Data-Driven Results: We use rigorous baseline and end-line assessments to ensure measurable behavioral change and program effectiveness.

Our Impact (Kindly add info-graphics to the impact numbers)

  • Educational Outreach: 40+ teachers trained as road safety ambassadors.
  • Broad Reach: Over 4,500 students assessed; 1,100+ students sensitized through classroom learning.
  • Institutional Growth: 19 active Road Safety Clubs formed to ensure ongoing safety initiatives.

BRACE Rural Community Awareness Program

Project BRACE (Bosch’s Road Safety Awareness and Community Engagement), implemented by the Muskaan Foundation for Road Safety in partnership with the Bosch India Foundation, delivers targeted road safety training to rural and semi-urban communities. By taking education directly to local governance hubs, the program transforms traffic safety into a shared social responsibility.

BRACE Capacity Building of Law Enforcement officials

Law enforcement is the backbone of road safety. To combat rising traffic volumes and complex urban challenges, we conduct specialized capacity-building programs for police personnel, ensuring effective enforcement, scientific crash investigation, and rapid emergency response

Our Training Approach
We empower officers with the technical skills to transition from traditional policing to a systems-led road safety approach:

  • Legal Expertise: In-depth training on the Motor Vehicles Act and traffic regulations.
  • Scientific Crash Investigation: Moving beyond “human error” to identify systemic causes and gather evidence.
  • Traffic Engineering: Orientation on effective traffic control devices and road infrastructure standards.
  • Emergency Response: Practical Basic Life Support (BLS) and first responder training for the “Golden Hour”.
By strengthening these core pillars, we equip law enforcement with the tools to create a safer, more coordinated road safety ecosystem.
