BRTS Route , Sikar Road : With more than 200 accidents and 45 deaths, the 7-km operative BRTS route on Sikar road in Jaipur had witnessed a spate of accidents in a short period of its operation thus becoming a major concern. Muskaan ran a successful advocacy by working with Jaipur Development Authority, Traffic Police Jaipur, community leaders, parshads, elected representatives, Business associations and educational institutes. Muskaan team walked the area that was problematic and certain points regarding engineering, traffic lights, faulty crossings and turns were noted and rectified during the project period.. BRTS Sikar road advocacy showed very encouraging results. As against 48 fatalities in two years, the one year concerted advocacy brought down the number of fatalities to 6 only.
